We are only interested in representing models and actors who are committed to succeeding by investing the time and energy necessary to remain competitive in the industry.
I have NO experience! How do I begin a career in modeling or acting?
The first step to an extraordinary opportunity is to attend one of our Open Call events. To attend, Register Here.
What is an Open Call, and why should I attend?
An Open Call is your chance to be seen by agency staff. During the Open Call, they will evaluate your skills, identify your look as a model or actor, and determine whether or not WMA Rochester is interested in representing you. If you are given a Call Back appointment, you may be on the path to representation.
These events are fun, educational, and exciting. The agency Director is present at every Open Call to discuss the state of the industry, opportunities within the industry, and exciting career paths available to aspiring and experienced models, including representation and professional training.
Above all, an Open Call provides you with an opportunity to meet and network with others like yourself who are looking for their start.
What should I wear for an Open Call?
As a general rule, models or actors should never wear baggy, damaged, or ill-fitting clothing or shoes to an audition. Some events or auditions require specific outfits for attendees, but WMA Rochester’s Open Call Dress Code is the standard for auditions that do not specify an outfit.
For WMA Rochester, our Open Call Dress Code is as follows:
Men should wear: A white or black fitted T-shirt or tank top, blue jeans.
Women should wear: A white or black fitted T-shirt or tank top, blue jeans, and heeled shoes (pumps preferred.)
Children should wear: A white or black T-shirt (no logos,) blue jeans.

People tell me I’m good looking, smart, and talented! Why should I pay for professional training?
Raw talent is a wonderful thing, but it will only get you so far. Most agencies prefer to work with experienced talent, and want to avoid the pitfalls of working with someone who doesn’t know where their “good side” is. When industry professionals see that a talent has training on their resume, it speaks volumes about their commitment to their craft, and gives them an immediate edge over their competition. Here at WMA Rochester, we will help to identify your strengths, and offer you opportunities to sharpen your skills in the areas we deem necessary.
