We got Spidey Sense!
Congratulations to the 25 plus talent who got booked in the new Spiderman Movie being shot here in Rochester. It’s a testament to our talent and the booking department for making that happen. Of course age requirements of 18 plus dictated the range of talent selected not to mention the 10 days you had to be available but overall, talent were very excited to be part of this major motion picture event here in Rochester. In this film released by Sony Pictures, Andrew Garfield portrays Peter Parker and Spider-Man in “The Amazing Spider-Man.
The production will be here about 10 – 15 days in May and then onward to use two stage facilities on Long Island and one in Brooklyn completing about 150 total shooting days. The Rochester scene will include a car chase on Main St with Wilhelmina talent in the roles of drivers, pedestrians and business people.
This is a fun and exciting time for Rochester and we are looking forward to welcoming the more than 300 crew members to our city,” Mayor Richards said. “At the same time, this is a very large event and our number one priority is making sure that the public is informed of all the necessary road closures and that movie fans are not in any areas that may cause safety concerns.”
City officials have met with the Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department, Monroe County Dept. of Transportation and the Rochester/Finger Lakes Film & Video Office to finalize plans for street detours and closures as well as measures to best keep the public informed. RTS buses using Main Street will be re-routed for the duration of the film shoot.
All in all, we’ll be waiting for the release of this movie. Stay tuned!
