As part of the contest we asked Jen to discuss some things important to her and give us her impression of the contest, what she’s learned from it all and her outlook on the future.
Here’s what Jen had to say…
“I love helping out my community in any way that I can, so I do a lot of community service through National Honor Society and 4-H. I am also very involved with my high school, but I knew that I wanted to go out and do something outside of school on my own.
When searching for a local modeling agency, I found Wilhelmina Rochester to have a very professional profile. I had previous modeling experience through competing in many contests such as Wilhelmina Philadelphia’s International Model Conference, Barbizon’s Northeast Modeling Competition and Barbizon’s Passport to Discovery Modeling Cruise. I modeled with Barbizon for about two years, before deciding to attend an open call at Wilhelmina Rochester. I have now been signed with them for about a year now!
I am truly honored to be a part of this premier modeling agency. Modeling for them has helped me grow so much as a person. I discovered a different side of me I never knew existed. I have overcome my shyness and definitely become more independent throughout this last year. Representing them as the Wilhelmina Rochester Social Media Cover Girl has been an absolute joy!
I have learned that Social Media is a very powerful outlet. It opens up so many opportunities to promote yourself and your work. I have also learned from the contest how many supporters I have! From my family, friends, classmates and others in the community, I am so thankful for all the support and votes.
Overall throughout this experience, I have learned that you can achieve anything that you set your mind to! I am hoping to use my new skills and confidence when attending Nazareth College in the Fall.”
Congratulations Jen from all of us at Wilhelmina Rochester!
